Échappée d’une estampe, la fleur de pivoine s’épanouit sur la porcelaine teintée dans la masse de l’assiette plate qui porte son nom. Les contours de ses pétales s’effacent et se froissent donnant à cette plante de caractère un aspect fragile, presque vulnérable.
